A risk analysis should be carried out already in the early design phase of the product in order to identify the main safety risks. The design specifications, test plans and labelling obligations can then be derived from this risk analysis. Since 2016, risk analyses have also been required as integral elements for all electrical products. However, it is also recommended by the [German] Product Safety Act (ProdSG) for other consumer products.
TMK will prepare a risk analysis for you based on the product information provided (e.g. technical data sheets, design drawings, illustrations, test reports, etc.) and a sample including packaging and operating instructions for:
- compliance with your documentation obligations according to the Low Voltage Directive (NSR) 2014/35/EU and the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC) 2014/30/EU),
- optimisation of your test plan and, therefore,
- saving costs of testing,
- defining necessary safety instructions and symbols on the product, packaging and in the operating instructions.
